As you may know by now, we here at Slingblade start with our COT before taking to the streets. With that said, this is what YHC had on his heart for today; Anxiety and Worry. Nothing but darts that are flung at our hearts and minds to try and break us down and weaken our spirits. Well my friends, I’m here to tell ya that we have access to the ultimate protection from these so called darts; GOD, HIS Word, and Prayer. We can read from Isaiah 41:10-“So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Also Philippians 4:6-7 -“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to GOD. And the peace of GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Even still, we might find ourselves feeling afraid, but we can believe and know that GOD is with us. We may not be in control, but we trust the ONE who is. we may not know what the future holds, but we can know the GOD who does. GOD’s words are very much life words. They can soothe our souls, calm our spirits, and give power to our days. And remember, if it is small enough to worry about, it is big enough to PRAY about.
And with that we took to the streets (and hills) of Granite Falls. Cropduster flew in low and late this morning. (Just had to throw that in there) With this being my first lead, or follow, of Slingblade, I felt it somewhat an unofficial requirement that we visit Tater Hole. The weather was quite pleasant, the air was heavy with moisture and it was just mild enough to make it sticky feeling. But I’m not complaining, I’m more then happy about the rain considering the surrounding fires and drought. I don’t know what I was thinking when I made this route, but my goodness there are some hills in Granite Falls. Oh well, no pain no gain is what I’ve always heard. We all did our thang and got through it, but Bandcamp burnt it up. My man Udder Butter came out on a mission this morning and showed some muscle. YHC tried to run him down the last mile, but he was long gone. But for the record, we all GOT BETTER. AYE!
OVER AND OUT!!
