Yeah, it was foggy in the gloom this morning. Heck, after YHC drove to Arrow through the dense fog without running off the road the run was the easy part. Or at least, the run was the less stressful part. Most of the PAX probably weren’t bothered by the fog because they live close by Arrow but for YHC and Hot Lips driving into town from the lake was a challenge. So the run was the fun part.
We did the same course Humpy laid out for us last week. YHC is still bothered by calf muscle problems in both legs and the Humpy route is a confined loop that never takes us too far away from the starting point. If you have any kind of physical issue its easy to cut it short and jog back to the start and wait on the rest of the PAX to finish. Which is exactly what happened to YHC for the second week in a row. About 2 miles into these runs the last 2 weeks YHC’s calves go “Boing!,” and it’s time to head back to the truck.
When the rest of the PAX finished a few minutes later YHC had to endure the smart remarks that he deserved for not finishing the whole route. Cousin Eddie promises to visit YHC in the nursing home. Fuse diagnosed the problem as having had too many birthdays. A couple of unemployed comedians, those two.
Anyway, good run, good times, and we’re getting better.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that you ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church through Christ our Lord, to this and all generations, world without end, Amen.”
Don’t need to add a thing to that.
Need one more runner to join the Palmetto 200 ultra team that OBT, Dredd, and YHC are putting together. Contact Abraham. This is going to be fun.
RSVP to Cropduster about the Christmas party if you haven’t done so already.
Don’t let the cold, or gloom, or fog, or rain, or anything else keep you from posting. When you post in adverse conditions it makes you proud. And you get better.
See you in the gloom.
