As They Are

  • When: 07/14/18
  • QIC: Flamer
  • The PAX: Cousin Eddie, Doughboy, Goodwill, and Flamer

I pulled into Northview and it was just me and Goodwill.  I thought for a while this would be a Bromance workout with just the two of us but then Doughboy rolled up (one of the WS faithful).  And then 1 minute late, Cousin Eddie rolled in to make it 4.  Here’s how it went:

Warm up: SSH, Humpys, and Windmills x 15

Mosey all the way down the hill to the bridge for some decline merkins

Up and back suicides back up the hill with one exercise at the bottom and one at each stop up the hill.  Exercises at the bottom were 15 Diamond Merkins, 20 Hand Release Merkins, and 25 Merkins; exercises at the stops up the hill were 15 LBC’s, 20 WW2 Sit-ups, and 25 Flutter Kicks.

30 some hours after the Bear race made this really suck.  At one point during these exercises I’m pretty sure I heard Cousin Eddie say, screw you!

Slow Mosey down to the soccer field for a spoke workout:

5 Burpees in the middle of the field; the 4 corners were squats, lunges, plank jacks, and Mtn climbers x20.

mosey back up the steps with 5 squats at each flat

Circle up for Abs: LBC x 20, Dying cockroaches x 20, Asheville abs in cadence x 5 (I called 10 forgetting that is crazy talk and changed it to 5)

A couple thoughts: Doughboy is a machine, Goodwill still continues to beat me in running (but let’s be honest who doesn’t); CE is slow and still smokes me…wait what…in running.  Doughboy and Goodwill could have easily run the Bear…next year boys!

Tooth Fairy was sleeping in to rest his little legs for a golf outing; Beaker got hit by the Self Enabler; Publix and HBC were still at the beach taking pictures of their feet in the sand, Kapowski has turned into a Canadian and has a million vacation days, Suppository came up with his own AO called Black Ops where he runs by himself.  We missed you boys and I love each of you as you are!

WOD John 13:1  Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.   Becoming a father is one of the major thrills in a man’s life. Sometimes God surprises us with children who are what we expected. We love sports and they want to take piano lessons. The challenge for every dad is to perceive that God makes no mistakes in assigning children to fathers. You are your children’s dad by divine arrangement. Believe that, and love all your children as the individuals they are.

That’s all.
