The Route 45 Tour de Granite Falls

YHC had posted a few times to , and those times left him wanting to see more of the AO. What better way to see the area than completing a Route 66? That was the idea at least…. Here’s how it went down:


SSH x 20 IC

Humpy’s x 20 IC

IST x 20 IC

Windmill x 20 IC

Plank work as follows:

Horizontal Mountain Climbers x 25 IC – stay in plank and-

Plan Jacks x 25 IC- stay in plank and-

Merkins x 15 IC- Recover

We then had to move across the road to avoid getting possum’d by some pickups churning up the Granite Falls Raceway-

Bear Crawl Forward curb to curb-

Bear Crawl Right-

Bear Crawl Backward curb to curb-

Bear Crawl Left to starting spot.

Next we attempted the Route 66 Tour de Granite Falls. A Route 66 is 11 stops of 6 exercises, starting at 1 and working up to 11 each. The 6 exercises YHC chose were: Burpees (of course), Squats, Merkins, Lunge, WWII sit ups, and Star Jumps. The stops went somewhat in this possible order: We moseyed to Udder Butter’s church, then circled past Citgo to the light, stopped at GF Brewing for a cold one, down some sketchy back streets then back up a hill, behind the sign warehouse to the Post Office, down to SkinFlick Video, back to Flag,

Since we only made it to Stop 9, we’ll call this a Route 45 (thanks Band Camp). It was an honor to lead this group of men today!

A favorite and comforting benediction of YHC is the end of Ephesians 3:

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.


-Some initial mumblechatter from Udder about RAM coming to GF, but the chatter cut out pretty quicky. A Route 66, I mean Route 45, cuts out the mumble pretty quick,

-Stop number 2… and hey there’s Band Camp!

-T-claps to Flamer and Cousin Eddie making the trip to Hurler! They had YHC thinking they got lost, but showed up right in time.

-So apparently everyone in Granite owns a yappy dog that they tie up outside. Good to know

-To finish a Route 66, you basically cant do any other exercises- just start it right away or its a Route 45.
