  • QIC: Cropduster(WD)
  • The PAX: Humpy, Root, Fuzzy Balls (WB), Retread, Igloo, Short Sale, Markup, Squints, Publix

Ten Men rolled out of the fartsack today, only to have “hell served for breakfast” this morning.  We did this:

Plank – while Cropduster welcomed, instructed, set the tone, and then he read this:

When you’re lost in the Wild, and you’re scared as a child,
And Death looks you bang in the eye,
And you’re sore as a boil, it’s according to Hoyle
To cock your revolver and . . . die.
But the Code of a Man says: “Fight all you can,”
And self-dissolution is barred.
In hunger and woe, oh, it’s easy to blow . . .
It’s the hell-served-for-breakfast that’s hard!  –from The Quitter by Robert Service

“You’re sick of the game!” Well, now, that’s a shame.
You’re young and you’re brave and you’re bright.
“You’ve had a raw deal!” I know — but don’t squeal,
Buck up, do your damnedest, and fight.
It’s the plugging away that will win you the day,
So don’t be a piker, old pard!
Just draw on your grit; it’s so easy to quit:
It’s the keeping-your-chin-up that’s hard. —from The Quitter by Robert Service

Plank, while Cropduster read this:

It’s easy to cry that you’re beaten — and die;
It’s easy to crawfish and crawl;
But to fight and to fight when hope’s out of sight —
Why, that’s the best game of them all!
And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and beaten and scarred,
Just have one more try — it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.—from The Quitter by Robert Service

Put away blocks while singing (in my mind) “For those about to BLOCK – we SALUTE you!!)

  • Let us men of Hickory F3 be in prayer for these

COT:  Cropduster read one of his favorite Bible passages from Joshua 1: 7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

He referenced the poem he had read throughout the workout which mentions the challenges we face day to day and how it would be EASY to quit.  Just like F3 men don’t get up early for easy, we also do NOT quit when our workouts or life gets hard.  In the Joshua passage God is tapping Joshua for a HARD assignment and then he tells him to be STRONG and COURAGEOUS.  In fact he said those words 3 times, and then He said he would be with Joshua (and us) wherever we go.  Men, draw encourage, hope and strength from that.

…and remember these lines from the poem by Robert Service…

Just have one more try — it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.—from The Quitter by Robert Service

Let us be STRONG and Courageous!

Cropduster out!
