The Inauguration of Pain at The Mount

So, today, will mark the dawning of a new era; a new leader of the free world. Once that leader is selected there will eventually be an inauguration for said leader. In that same vein of thinking, this was the inaugural Tuesday Morning workout of Mountain View and Short Sale asked YHC to Q. I was there for the “FNG Friendly” Saturday workout and I decided these men needed to know the pain the rest of us PAX endure daily. It was their Inauguration of Pain. So, 9 of us endured on #themount.

    • The rookies learned all about mumblechatter from the guys Saturday and there was PLENTY of it after this!
  • Mosey to Block Pile
    • Guessing it was about 1/4+ mile run to block pile
    • On the way, while running, we did some Mohammed Ali’s, Joe Frazier’s, and Overhead Presses.

    • Hang Clean and Press ICx10 (this was a new one even for YHC; awful and highly recommended!)
  • At dead end road by Walgreens
    • Ladder of Blockees and Monkeyhumpers
    • Originally planned on sets of 10 but compromised to sets of 7
    • 6 Blockees run to 1st street lamp and do 1 Monkeyhumper (good way to humble the new PAX)
    • Run back 5 Blockees, 2 Monkeyhumpers all the way down to 1 Blockee and Monkeyhumpers
    • Put blocks up
  • Run from Walgreens back to flag led by Short Sale
  • A Little Time with Mary
    • Low Country Crabs ICx15
    • Flutter Kicks ICx15
    • Boat/Canoes x5

Ran out of time for the rest; to the relief of the PAX.



  • Romans 5:3-5, “Not only that, but we rejoice in our suffering, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
    • Reminded the PAX that no matter what happens in the election and in the days that follow God helps us and builds us up.
    • Reminded PAX of how the suffering we go through in our workouts builds endurance and character and hope. Gave the example of myself only being involved since May and was always the 6 and what a difference I’ve seen in my life and physical abilities. Encouraged everyone to keep at it and get better and stronger!
  • Encouraged all the new guys to come out to Arrow, Slingblade, RAM, ER, and Whipping Stick or 300.
  • Named an FNG that was a paramedic Doc McStuffins. Welcome to the family!

It was an honor and very humbling to be asked to Q the very first Tuesday workout at Mt. View! These men are going to be tough, and it was a privilege to lead them in the gloom! Aye!
